The Ticker Tales take
Purple Style Labs runs Pernia's Pop-Up Shop, a luxury Indian designer-fashion retailer selling couture and occasion wear online and through large experience centres in major cities. ₹680 Cr mainboard issue at ₹546–575, entirely fresh shares, so all the money raised goes into the company rather than to existing owners. Most of it goes to lease liabilities for those experience centres (₹371 Cr) and to sales and marketing (₹139 Cr) — a growth-spend story, not a debt-repayment one. Bidding closed on 2 Sep at just 1.36× subscribed: institutions arrived late at 1.50× and retail managed 1.66×, but wealthy investors stopped at 0.89× — barely over the line for an issue this size. The grey-market premium has collapsed from ~₹30 at the open to nothing. It is also loss-making, with a ₹285 Cr loss in FY26 on ₹567 Cr of revenue and a negative net worth. We expected a small listing discount of roughly 6%, so our call was Avoid. It listed on 7 Sep at ₹539 on BSE (−6.3%) and about ₹535 on NSE (−7.0%), then recovered through the day to close at ₹568 (−1.2%). The call was right: a barely-covered book with a grey-market premium that had collapsed to nothing pointed straight at a discount, and that is what arrived — though anyone who held through day one got most of the fall back.
