The Ticker Tales take

Prasol Chemicals makes acetone-based and phosphorus-based specialty chemicals that end up in lubricants, paints, medicines, crop chemicals and personal care. Four-fifths of the ₹500 crore issue was an offer for sale, so most of the money went to existing owners rather than into the business. Final demand was modest at 3.47 times covered and the grey market premium had drained away to nothing, so we expected a flat, unexciting debut and called it Neutral. It listed on 16 September at ₹610 on NSE, down 9.8%, and ₹611 on BSE, down 9.6% — a weaker open than even we expected — then climbed back through the day to close at ₹671, effectively flat at −0.7%. The Neutral call held by the closing bell, though the opening print was uglier than the call implied.
