The Ticker Tales take
Karamtara Engineering makes solar mounting structures, tracker components and transmission-line hardware — the steel skeletons that hold up solar farms and power grids. It is a sizeable business, with FY26 revenue of ₹4,312 crore and profit of ₹228.8 crore, and most of the ₹875 crore issue was fresh money (₹675 crore) going into the company. Demand finished very strong: the book closed 66.01 times covered, with institutions at 168.19 times and big-ticket investors at 51.17 times. We expected a strong listing — a pop of around 27%. It listed on 17 September at ₹320 on both NSE and BSE, up 26.0% — almost exactly our estimate — and then kept climbing, closing the first day at ₹352, up 38.6%. A clean call, and anyone who held through the day did better than we predicted.
