The Ticker Tales take

Annu Projects is an engineering, procurement and construction company that designs, builds, operates and maintains essential overhead and underground utility infrastructure — sewerage lines, telecom towers and gas pipelines — largely for government bodies. A small ₹175.06 Cr mainboard issue at ₹94–99, entirely fresh shares, so all the money raised went into the company rather than to existing owners. Bidding closed on 28 Aug at 2.93× subscribed — a thin book for a small issue, with no category showing real appetite — and the grey-market premium faded from ~₹5.7 at close to nothing by listing eve. Our call was a cautious Subscribe on an expected pop of roughly 6%. It listed on 2 Sep at ₹72 on NSE, about 27% below the ₹99 issue price, and closed its first day at ₹75.60 (−23.6%). The cushion we warned about simply was not there: a barely-covered book with no grey-market premium left nothing to hold the price up. A clear miss.
